Adviser for the Ministry of Labour and Employment and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan has said that members of banned organizations will not be allowed to be appointed in government positions.

The members will also be excluded from the recruitment processes which are already underway, said the adviser in a Facebook post shared on Thursday.

“In the upcoming circulars, vacancies will be filled based on merit and qualifications.”

As a result, there will be greater opportunities for a larger number of candidates in the forthcoming recruitment announcements, he added.

The government is committed to ending the practice of recruitment corruption. Candidates are urged to refrain from giving or taking bribes for appointments, Asif further added.

The interim government on Wednesday banned Chhatra League, the student wing of Bangladesh Awami League, for their involvement in the killings and destructive and terrorist activities, both directly and through incitement, during the July revolution.
