A seminar on “The Role of the Interim Government: Expectations and Challenges," organized by the Department of Law and Human Rights, University of Asia Pacific (UAP), was held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the UAP Auditorium.
The seminar is collaboratively organized with the South Asian Institute of Advanced Legal and Human Rights Studies (SAILS) and the Center for Law, Governance, and Policy (CELGAP).
Renowned Columnist & Former Judge Ikteder Ahmed; Journalist and Analyst Masood Kamal; Political Analyst Dr. Zaheed Ur Rahman; Barrister Ehsan Abdullah Siddiq, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh; and Mr. Mahi Uddin, Student Representative, 2024 Revolution, were present in the seminar as discussants.
The speakers said that the mass uprising of students has awakened new dreams in people's minds. To make this dream a reality, the interim government will have to take some groundbreaking decisions at the right time.
They also said that the current government has taken on the responsibility of running the state as a result of the anti-discrimination student movement. As a result, it is the moral responsibility of this government to eliminate the existing discrimination in various fields. It is the expectation of the common people that the current government will maintain competence, efficiency, and impartiality in fulfilling this responsibility.
