The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 2,131 cases during operations targeting traffic rule violations on Monday.
Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of the DMP, confirmed the information in a media release on Tuesday.
In addition, 59 vehicles were seized and impounded, while 82 others were towed due to poor driving practices, he added.
