Three students of Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College (DMRC) at Jatrabari died following clashes between the institute's students against those of Kabi Nazrul Government College and Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College.
The deaths were confirmed by Ashraf Sami, managing director of the Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College. "More than 100 students and teachers have been injured," he added. He said more deaths could be expected.
Meanwhile, fifteen injured students were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the capital, following the rounds of violence in Demra, said the hospital's outpost in-charge Md Faruqe.
