Ten platoons of BGB have been deployed in different parts of Dhaka and Chattogram amid growing tensions. In Dhaka, four platoons BGB members were deployed at Shahbagh, Matshaya Bhaban and Hotel Intercontinental areas on Tuesday afternoon, said Md Shariful Islam, Public Relations Officer at the BGB headquarters
Besides, six platoons of BGB were deployed in Chattogram to maintain the public order.Tensions have been prevailing in the capital due to recent blockade programmes, demonstrations and clashes causing immense suffering to the city residents.
Tensions have escalated in Chattogram amid demonstrations by ISKCON supports after a court sent former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari to jail rejecting his bail plea today (Tuesday).
