During their meeting with Chief Adviser Mohammad Yuunus, senior BNP leaders stressed the need for national unity to fend off those trying to destabilise the country.They also asked the chief adviser to increase the number of TCB trucks that sell daily essentials at fair prices to low-wage earners, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said in a press briefing after the meeting at the CA's official residence Jamuna this evening (27 November).
He also urged reducing commodity prices. Earlier, a five-member BNP delegation, led by Fakhruk entered the CA's residence at 6:00pm, said BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
The delegation includes party standing committee members Mirza Abbas, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Salauddin Ahmed. Shayrul Kabir stated that Iqbal Hasan Tuku, a member of the party's standing committee, could not attend the meeting as he is currently in Sirajganj.
Earlier on 23 October, three BNP leaders met with the chief adviser at Jamuna. Regarding the meeting, Nazrul Islam Khan stated they urged the government to ensure that no new constitutional crisis arises in the country.
