The Inner Wheel Club of Gulshan organized a seminar on the topic ‘UNiTE!

The Inner Wheel Club of Gulshan, IWD 328, Bangladesh, organized a seminar on the topic ‘UNiTE! Activism to end violence against women and girls!’ at Gulshan Ladies Community Club on 9th December.

The seminar aimed to raise awareness and promote activism to end violence against women and girls in Bangladesh.

The seminar featured keynote speaker Jinat Ara Haque, Chief Executive of WE CAN Alliance, who shared insights on the importance of collective action to address the root causes of violence against women and girls. Advocate Salma Ali, President of the Bangladesh National Women Lawyers' Association, also spoke at the event, highlighting the legal framework in place to protect women and girls from violence.

Chief Guest Shahana Alam Nirjhar, District Chairman of Inner Wheel District 328, Bangladesh, emphasized the role of community organizations in supporting survivors of violence and advocating for change.

The seminar was attended by the Executive Committee members of Inner Wheel 
District 328, Club Presidents and the members of Inner Wheel Club of Gulshan. As part of the event, a donation cheque was handed over to Salma Ali for a shelter home that provides support to women and girls who are survivors of violence.
