Parts of Bangladesh may experience moderate to heavy rains over three days from Friday due to a well-marked low over the South Bay of Bengal and adjoining area, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
" Moderate to heavy rains are likely in places in Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, Barishal, Khulna and Mymenisngh divisions during the 72 hours from 6am on December 20," said a BMD.
"The low pressure area over central parts of South Bay of Bengal and adjoining area has intensified into a well-marked low and now lies over Southwest Bay and adjoining area," it said.
Its associated trough extends up to North Bay. Ridge of sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining area. Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.
Light to moderate fog may occur at places over the country during midnight till morning. Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged and day temperature may fall slightly over the country.
