President of the Bangladesh Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BPCCI) Humayun Rashid has underscored the need for strengthening economic ties between Bangladesh and the Philippines. The BPCCI President, together with its Vice President Imran Ahmed, met Ambassador of the Philippines to Bangladesh Nina P Cainglet and laid emphasis on taking steps towards enhancing bilateral trade and investment between the two countries.
During the meeting held on Tuesday, the delegation from the BPCCI highlighted the issues like market development of agro products and services, skill development and technology training transfer, air connectivity and logistics and communication services.
This meeting reflected the commitment of both the countries to deepen their economic relationship and create new opportunities for businesses and investors.
Both sides emphasised the potential for expanding trade in agricultural goods, aiming to enhance the agricultural supply chain and increase the variety of agro products available in both countries.
Recognising the importance of a skilled workforce, the discussion centered around initiatives for technological training and knowledge exchange between the two countries. Besides, the delegation put emphasis on improving air links between Bangladesh and the Philippines to facilitate better movement of goods and people, thus fostering closer economic ties.
They also explored strategies to streamline logistics and improve communication services, which are crucial for efficient trade operations.
