A devastating fire burnt down a makeshift courtroom at the Alia Madrasah in the capital's Bakshibazar today (9 January). The court was scheduled to hear a bail petition in relation to a case filed over BDR massacre today.
Confirming the matter, Duty Officer for Dhaka Division (Control Room) of Fire Service and Civil Defence Rozina Islam told TBS, "We learned about the fire around 4:22am. Two teams of fire service went to the spot and returned around 11am after failing to control the fire."
According to Fire Service officials, all the furniture of the makeshift court has been burnt to ashes. Which has turned the makeshift courtroom unsuitable for the trial.
