The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her daughter Saima Wazed Putul and 14 others over allegations of illegally acquiring government plots in the Purbachal New Town project.
The accused include officials of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk), the anti-graft watchdog's Director General (Prevention) Akhtar Hossain told reporters during a briefing at the ACC headquarters today (12 January).
"Saima Wazed used Sheikh Hasina power to take the allotment of Plot no-017 on Road no-203 of Sector no-27 of Purbachal New Town Project, despite having house or flat or housing facility in the area under the jurisdiction of Rajuk in Dhaka city in her name or other family members," said the ACC official.
