National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam's grandson Babul Kazi, who was on life support at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS), died today (19 January). He breathed his last at 5:30pm, Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, a resident physician at the NIBPS Emergency Department confirmed to The Business Standard.
Babul was admitted to NIBPS with 74% burns on his body at 6:30am yesterday and was subsequently shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). His condition deteriorated and he was placed on life support at around 8pm yesterday.
Babul Kazi was the youngest of three children and the son of renowned recitation artists Kazi Sabyasachi and Uma Kazi. His elder sisters, Khilkhil Kazi and Misty Kazi, are both citizens of Bangladesh.
