No threat was found on the Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Rome, which earlier received a bomb threat from an unidentified caller early today (22 January), said Captain Kamrul Islam, group executive director of Dhaka Airport.
"As per protocol all baggage and items were checked, however, no threat was found," he said in a press statement. Passengers' belongings are now being handed over, and regular processing of passengers is underway, he said.
He also said they called off the search at 12:30pm. Earlier this morning, the flight, carrying 250 passengers and 13 crew members received a bomb threat. All passengers safely evacuated the aircraft and went to the terminal, said Captain Kamrul Islam.
The Biman flight BG-356, en route from Rome to Dhaka, received information during the journey that someone onboard had issued a bomb threat.
