Six vehicles crashed into each other on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway this morning (1 February) due to dense fog, leaving at least 25 people injured. The accident occurred around 7:30am at Rangpur's Gor-er Matha Mor portion of the Rangpur-Dhaka Highway, according to media reports.

The affected vehicles included two passenger buses, a truck, a pickup, and a covered van. No fatalities have been reported as of filing this report.

According to the Barodargah highway police and locals, the vehicles lost control due to reduced visibility caused by dense fog, leading to a chain collision. Several injured passengers were taken to the hospital, with some reported to be in critical condition.

"We are currently removing the damaged vehicles from the highway, and initial medical assistance has been provided to the injured," said Moniruzzaman, in charge of Barodargah Highway Police.

Meanwhile, Rangpur continues to experience cold winds and dense fog, intensifying winter conditions. Vehicles on the highway are operating with headlights on due to poor visibility, increasing the risk of accidents.
