Anyone distributing leaflets in support of the "fascist" Awami League will be arrested, said CA's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam today (3 February). Speaking at a press conference at Foreign Service Academy, he said the leaflet distributors will be arrested as the content includes issues that could destabilise law and order in the country.
Yesterday, a chaotic situation arose at the Lakshmipur Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court premises over chanting Awami League's "Joy Bangla" slogan while the accused in student murder cases were being loaded into a prison van.
Angry mob beat up two of those who were giving slogans. One of them- Paran Chowdhury - was held and handed over to the police. The other managed to escape. Lakshmipur Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Monnaf said Paran was detained while distributing Awami League leaflets.
