Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader's house was vandalised by students and locals. They surrounded the house in Bora Rajapur village of Ward No. 1 of Basurhat Municipality in Companiganj Upazila around 1pm today (6 February). During this time, they were heard chanting slogans of "Naraye Takbir, Kauwa Kauwa".

The protesters were seen standing on the roof of the house, some inside the house, and some in front of the house. At one point, they set fire to various furniture in the house, the roof and a car in front. They were still vandalising the house as if writing the report around 1:50pm.

A post was given from the Noakhali district's own Facebook page of the Student Movement Against Discrimination today morning. It was written, "Revolutionaries of Noakhali, be ready with bulldozers. March to Kauwa Quader's house! Today at 11am."

Local resident Nur Uddin Jahan said Obaidul Quader does not have his own room in the house. This house belong to his younger brother, Quader Mirza.

The protesters said that Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader is responsible for provocative statements and attacks on students across the country. Today, the students and the public are expressing that anger and resentment.
