Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury warned that strict action would be taken against any negligence in the ongoing operation to curb theft, robbery, and snatching. He emphasised that if any negligence is found within the forces, no one would be spared. He made these comments after paying floral tributes at the Banani Military Cemetery at 9:00 am on Tuesday, in honour of the martyrs on National Martyrs' Army Day.
In response to questions from the media regarding the ongoing operation, which began on Monday night, and its success, the Home Affairs Adviser stated, "The success or failure of the operation will be evaluated by you (the journalists). If there is any negligence among my employees or members of the forces, I will take action against them."
He further added, "No one will be spared, whether it’s the police, BGB, RAB, Ansar, or the prison department. Anyone who does not perform their duties properly will be brought under the law." When asked for an update on the operation, the Home Affairs Adviser remarked, "I thought you would provide the update. You should report the news accurately and see if we take action. After news was reported about two SPs, action was taken. Based on true reports, action will definitely be taken."
