The High Court has ordered the removal of all pictures of a child who was raped while visiting her sister's house in Magura from social media. The court instructed the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on Sunday to remove the child's pictures from social media platforms and inform the state's lawyer by 12:15 pm.
A bench comprising Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debashish Roy Chowdhury passed the order after Barrister Mahsib Hossain brought the newspaper report to the court’s attention. Earlier, the child was transferred from Dhaka Medical College to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Saturday, where she is currently undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, the child's mother filed a case regarding the rape incident. The child's sister's husband, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law have been named as suspects in the case and are already in police custody.
