Workers at the BSIS factory blocked the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in the Ershadnagar area of Tongi, Gazipur, on Tuesday morning, demanding one month's overdue wages. According to police and local sources, the workers staged a protest in front of the factory, calling for their unpaid wages. At one point, they took out a procession and blocked the highway.

The roadblock caused severe traffic jams on both sides of the highway, causing significant distress for office-goers. Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene and attempted to convince the workers to clear the road. Officer-in-Charge (OC) Faridul Islam of the Tongi East Police Station stated that efforts are being made to remove the workers from the highway.

Meanwhile, in protest against an incident of worker assault, employees from another factory in the Mouchak area of Gazipur blocked the Dhaka-Tangail Highway, creating severe traffic congestion on both sides of the road.
