The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all types of public gatherings, rallies, and processions in and around the Bangladesh Secretariat, official residence of the Chief Advisor at Jamuna and key surrounding areas, effective from today until further notice.
In a public notice issued today (13 March), the DMP stated that the decision had been made in the interest of maintaining public order. The restriction has been enforced under the authority of Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No-III/76).
According to the notice, the prohibition applies to the areas surrounding the Bangladesh Secretariat, the official residence of the Chief Adviser at Jamuna, and adjacent locations, including the Hotel Intercontinental intersection, Shahbagh intersection, Kakrail intersection, and Minto Road. DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjad Ali, NDC, signed the notice.
