The Advisory Council has approved a proposal for an executive order declaring April 3 (Thursday) as a holiday, following the Eid holidays, allowing government officials and employees to enjoy a continuous break. As a result, government employees will have a nine-day holiday from March 28 to April 5.
The proposal for the executive order was approved during a meeting of the Advisory Council at the Chief Adviser’s office on Thursday, March 20. The meeting was chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
The government had already declared a five-day holiday for Eid, which coincides with Independence Day, Shab-e-Qadr, and the weekly holiday. Altogether, government employees will have a break during the last week of March and the first week of April.
Depending on the sighting of the moon, Eid-ul-Fitr, the most significant religious festival for Muslims, will be celebrated on either March 31 (Monday) or April 1 (Tuesday). According to the meteorological department, there is a strong possibility of Eid being on March 31.
