More than 22,800 vehicles have travelled through the Dhaka Elevated Expressway in 24 hours till 6:00am on Monday (4 September). During the period, over Tk 18.5 lakh was collected as tolls, said sources at the project.
More than 90 per cent of the total vehicles plying on the elevated expressway on the first day were private cars. A total of 12,242 vehicles crossed the expressway from Airport's Kawla via Banani-Mohakhali.
Also, some 2,425 vehicles travelled from Kuril, Kemal Ataturk Avenue, Mohakhali, and Farmgate points while 2,892 vehicles travelled from Banani to Kuril, and 5,246 vehicles from Tejgaon to Mohakhali, Kamal Ataturk, and Kuril.
