The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number 3 as the cyclonic storm ‘Hamoon’ weakened into a deep depression.
The cyclonic storm ‘Hamoon’ over northeast Bay and adjoining area moved northwestward and crossed the coast at 1 am on Wednesday (25 October), weakening into a land-deep depression near Satkania in Chattogram, said a latest bulletin of the Met office.
It is likely to move further and weaken gradually.
All fishing boats and trawlers over north Bay have been advised to remain in shelter.
