A police officer was killed during a clash with BNP activists at the Dainik Bangla crossing, police reported.
However, the name and rank of the deceased are yet to be known immediately, said Bachhu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost.
The policeman was declared dead by the doctors at DMCH on 4:15pm after bystanders brought him to the hospital with a head injury, he added.
The DMP media cell also confirmed the news and said it would provide more details about the victim's identity upon receiving further information.
