Police have arrested Mian Zahidul Islam Arefy, the self-proclaimed advisor of US President Joe Biden, from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday (29 October) afternoon.
Joint Commissioner of DMP Biplob Kumar Sarkar confirmed the arrest of Arefy, who was identified himself as an adviser to the US President.
The DMP joint commissioner said, "Immigration Police have arrested him when he went to the airport to leave the country."
Arefy was present along with BNP leaders at a press briefing held at BNP's Naya Paltan central office and instigated violence in the country.
According to a Detective Branch (DB) officer, the fake advisor Arefy was taken to the DB office for interrogation.
