There are 23 companies listed in the fuel and power sector in the capital market. Meanwhile, on Thursday, the last working day of the year, the shares of 19 companies, or 82 percent, were seen trapped in the floor price, and shares of the remaining 4 companies traded above the floor price.
According to DSE data, the 19 companies stuck at the floor price are: Associated Oxygen, Baraka Power, BD Welding, Baraka Patenga Power, DESCO, Doreen Power, Energypac, GBB Power, Khulna Power, Linde BD, Lub-rref, MJL, Meghna Petroleum, Padma Oil, PowerGrid, Shahazibazar Power, Summit Power, Titas Gas, and United Power Company.
Among the companies, most are paying good dividends to investors, and the performance of the companies is also good. Still, investors are less interested in the companies' shares.
The four companies traded above the floor price are CVO Petrochemical, Eastern Lubricant, Intraco CNG, and Jamuna Oil Company. Among them, the floor price of CVO Petrochemical is Tk 163.70. The last transaction was at Tk 166.70.
Besides, the floor price of Eastern Lubricants is Tk 1,531.30. The last transaction was at Tk 1,538.50. The floor price of Intraco CNG is Tk 29.10. The last transaction was at Tk 40.50. The floor price of Jamuna Oil is Tk 167.30. The last transaction was at Tk 168.50.
Meanwhile, out of 23 listed companies, 19 have so far released unaudited financial reports for the first quarter (July–September) of the current fiscal year. Among them, the income of 8 companies has increased, 7 companies have decreased, and four companies are at a loss. And four companies have not published financial reports.
The companies with increased income are Baraka Power, CVO Petrochemical, Eastern Lubricant, Jamuna Oil, Khulna Power Company, MJL Bangladesh, Padma Oil, and Shahazibazar Power Company Limited.
The companies with decreased earnings are Doreen Power, Intraco Refuelling, Linde Bangladesh, Lub-rref Bangladesh, Meghna Petroleum, Titas Gas, and United Power.
Besides, loss-making companies are Baraka Patenga, DESCO, GBB Power, and Powergrid Company. Among them, Baraka Patenga’s first quarter loss per share stood at Tk 0.04, DESCO at Tk 3.82, GBB Power at Tk 0.30, and Powergrid Company at Tk 1.42 loss per share.
