Faruque Hassan, president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), has called upon affluent people of the society to extend a helping hand to those less fortunate during the bitter winter months.
"While many of us are fortunate enough to experience the beauty of winter wrapped in warm garments, there are many who suffer from the bitter cold due to a lack of adequate clothing," he said.
"It is our collective responsibility to ensure that the less fortunate among us are not left to suffer in these chilly winter conditions," he added.
The BGMEA chief made the call while distributing warm clothes, including blankets and sweaters, among the underprivileged individuals on the premises of the Safiuddin Ahmed Foundation in Thakurgaon's Debipur on Monday (15 January).
He encouraged wealthy individuals, businesses, and community members to contribute to this noble cause by donating gently used or new warm clothes.
"Your generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of people struggling to stay warm this winter. Let's come together as a community to make this season a little brighter for everyone."
