TikTok is excited to unveil its #BookTok campaign at the Ekushey Boi Mela 2024, along with a local hashtag, #BoiMela. This initiative represents TikTok’s commitment to celebrating literature and fostering a love for books within the community. Started on February 1, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, the campaign aims to create a unique experience for book lovers and TikTok enthusiasts alike.
The Ekushey Boi Mela 2024 introduced attendees to the TikTok Experience Centre at Stall 918, a dedicated space crafted to immerse visitors in the literary world through TikTok’s vibrant lens. The centre spotlights the BookTok Corner, a specially curated area that showcases popular books highlighted by the #BookTok community, alongside the local #BoiMela campaign. Here, visitors can connect with the stories and authors that have ignited discussions and set trends on TikTok.
Embracing innovation and interaction, the TikTok Experience Centre is set to feature engaging elements. Attendees can look forward to discovering TikTok branded materials and QR codes that direct to #BookTok and #BoiMela content within the app. Moreover, custom bookmarks with QR codes will provide a digital exploration of various book reviews, enriching the traditional book fair experience with a modern twist.
The #BookTok and #BoiMela campaigns at the Ekushey Boi Mela transcend a mere exhibition of books; they represent a dynamic platform for creating and sharing literary content. TikTok is excited to initiate the #BookTok campaign by inviting users to engage in creative trends such as Top 3 Books You Have to Read and DIY Bookmarks (Butterfly) under both hashtags. The campaign will also introduce unique TikTok effects, including the Green Screen effect for in-depth book reviews and a bespoke Which Book Title Are You? effect, to enhance the book reviewing experience.
TikTok aims to engage the reading community by spotlighting top Book Lover accounts. These featured accounts will serve as a source of inspiration and engagement, encouraging users to interact using TikTok's Q&A feature for personalized book reviews and recommendations.
