After witnessing a downward trend in the three sessions, stocks today rebounded in the Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges as investors remained active on sector-wise issues.
After witnessing volatility, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 35.68 points or 0.63 per cent to settle at 5,696.72. Two other indices also ended higher with the DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, rose 11.36 points to finish at 2,026 and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 7.90 points to close at 1,250.47.
Out of 390 issues traded, 196 advanced, 159 declined and 35 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
Daily trade turnover increased to Tk 9,858.88 million on the country’s premier bourse, which was Tk 9,113.79 million at the previous session of the week.
ASIATICLAB dominated the turnover chart, closely followed by BESTHLDNG, NAVANAPHAR, GOLDENSON and FEKDIL.
PADMALIFE was the day’s top gainer, rising 10 per cent, while GQBALLPEN was the worst loser, shedding 3 per cent.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also rebounded with the CSE All Share Price Index – CASPI –gaining 97.76 points to settle at 16,329.63 and the Selective Categories Index – CSCX rising 61.68 points to close at 9,833.20.
Of the issues traded, 101 declined, 98 advanced and 33 issues remained unchanged on the CSE.
The port city’s bourse traded 58.03 lakh shares and mutual fund units with turnover value of Tk 16.40 crore.
