Rupayan City is an exceptional project and a well-planned city in the country, noted sculptor and Ekushey Padak winner Hamiduzzaman Khan has said.

He said this after visiting Rupayan City in Uttara on Tuesday.

“It is nice to be here as it is safe and environment-friendly. Tangles of electric lines can be seen elsewhere but it is an exception as I have not seen that anywhere in such a big city. I feel good here,” said Hamiduzzaman.

“I got around the entire project and felt that what people want is safety, good environment, and a place that has sports facilities and schools for children. They also want a place to spend time with family members. This city offers it all. If one comes here once, he will want to stay here forever,” he said.

The celebrated painter also said the current residential projects have become like colonies that lack playgrounds, good environment, and greenery. Besides, there are various inconsistencies in the projects that create adverse impacts on human minds and also the environment.

“People are addicted to mobile phones due to lack of enough open space. That is why a beautiful environment and playgrounds are very important, which I got here,” he remarked.

Recalling his experience of the Olympic Games, he said he had gone to South Korea. “I was told beforehand that I would go to the Olympic village. I thought village would be a residence, but when I went there, I was surprised to see that the whole place was the Olympic City, which was like a modern five-star hotel,” he said.

He went on to say, “Everything there was planned. In the same way, I am now at Rupayan City and surprised that they are also building a planned mega city.”

“I always think about cultural things. The demands of people have been given importance while building Rupayan City, such as security, good environment, facilities for children's sports and education, as well as places for worship. They are offering a range of facilities. I would say Rupayan City is a healthy city, which should be a slogan,” Hamiduzzaman explained.

CEO of Rupayan City M Mahbubur Rahman, CBO Rezaul Haque Limon, Head of Marketing Goswami Asim Ranjan, Head of Product and Design Architect Syed Abdullah Raju, and other officials were present.
