Community Bank declares 10.4pc cash dividend

Community Bank Bangladesh held its 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the police headquarters in Dhaka on Wednesday and declared 10.4 per cent cash dividend for shareholders.  

The meeting was chaired by Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, inspector general of police and chairman of the bank. During the meeting, the bank’s audited financial statements for the year 2023 were adopted by the shareholders.

Chowdhury said Community Bank is a bank not only for Bangladesh Police but also general people. He expressed hope that the progress of the bank will continue through the introduction of community-based innovative products and smart banking solutions for people from all walks of life.

He also mentioned that Community Bank not only makes profit but also contributes to the welfare of marginalised communities under its CSR initiatives.

Among the shareholders, Md Kamrul Ahsan, additional IG (Admin) of Bangladesh Police; M Khurshid Hossain, DG of RAB; Md Monirul Islam, additional IG (SB); SM Ruhul Amin, additional IG of Anti-Terrorism Unit; Md Atiqul Islam, Additional IG (Crime & Operations); Abu Hasan Muhammad Tarique, Additional IG (Finance); Md Mahabubor Rahman, Additional IG (Industrial Police); Habibur Rahman, Additional IG and DMP Commissioner; Md Aminul Islam, DIG (Admin); Quazi Zia Uddin, DIG of HRM; Dr Shoeb Reaz Alam, Additional DIG of Development Revenue-1; Muntashirul Islam, Additional DIG of Police Welfare Trust; Sufian Ahmed, Additional DIG and Director (Academic) of Police Staff College; BM Forman Ali, Inspector of Bangladesh Police and President of Bangladesh Police Association; Masud Khan, Independent Director; Kazi Masihur Rahman, Independent Director; Masihul Huq Chowdhury, MD of the bank; and Saiful Alam, Company Secretary of the bank; were present.
