Padma Bank PLC has taken a strict stand against those who have defaulted by taking loans from the bank.
The bank, which is uncompromising in collecting defaulted loans, is bringing defaulters under the law one by one, according to a media release.
Following this, Md Abu Bokkar Siddiq, the defaulting borrower of the Sherpur branch, was arrested on Thursday, June 27.
Sherpur Thana Police managed to arrest him with the help of the Sherpur branch of Padma Bank PLC and the recovery task force team.
The BL loan account of Md Abu Bokkar Siddiq, owner of M/s Shohag Electronics in Sherpur, owes Tk one crore to Padma Bank.
On September 24, 2023, the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge issued an arrest warrant against him in a case filed by Padma Bank PLC, the release adds.
