MA Khan Belal has been elected as the chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of Mercantile Bank PLC during its 443rd board meeting held at the bank's head office in the capital on June 30, 2024.
Prior to this election, he served as the Chairman of Mercantile Bank Securities Limited. With commendable experience in trade, industry, shipping, and banking, he has established various companies in Bangladesh and currently chairs the Samrat Group of Companies.
In addition to his business endeavors, Belal is well-recognised for his benevolent contributions to society through various social welfare activities, including education, health, and social development movements. He serves as an Executive Member of Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, Dhaka, and is a former Vice President of Noakhali Zilla Samiti.
MA Khan Belal is also the founder of several schools, madrasas, mosques, and other socio-cultural organisations in Begumganj.
