In just two days, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced another hike in gold prices. The price of high-quality gold, specifically 22-carat, will now be BDT 1,27,942 per bhori, marking the highest rate in the country's history.

This announcement came through a press release signed by Masudur Rahman, the Chairman of the BAJUS Price Fixing and Price Monitoring Standing Committee, on Sunday (August 25).

According to BAJUS, the increase in local market prices for gold, known as 'Tejabi gold,' prompted the new pricing structure, which will take effect on Monday.

The revised rates are as follows:

* 22-carat gold: BDT 1,27,942 per bhori (11.664 grams)
* 21-carat gold: BDT 1,22,122 per bhori
* 18-carat gold: BDT 1,04,684 per bhori
* Traditional gold: BDT 86,547 per bhori

Despite the rise in gold prices, silver rates remain unchanged. The current prices per bhori are:

* 22-carat silver: BDT 2,100
* 21-carat silver: BDT 2,006
* 18-carat silver: BDT 1,715
* Traditional silver: BDT 1,283

On Sunday (August 25), gold prices were slightly lower, with 22-carat gold at BDT 1,26,006 per bhori, 21-carat gold at BDT 1,20,279, 18-carat gold at BDT 1,03,098, and traditional gold at BDT 85,241 per bhori.
