Mercantile Bank PLC has donated a total of Tk 20 million (2.00 crore) for the relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims.
Md. Quamrul Islam Chowdhury, Managing Director and Mati Ul Hasan, Additional Managing Director of the Bank have deposited one day's salary of the bank’s officials to the Chief Adviser's Relief Fund, according to a press statement.
Subhash Chandra Das, Deputy Managing Director, Sonali Bank PLC received the said cheque.
Mercantile Bank is also distributing relief materials from the bank’s CSR fund among flood-affected people in that area through local branches and sub-branches of the bank.
The decision was taken to allocate money for the flood victims in the meeting of the Executive Committee of the bank was held on August 22, 2024.
