DSEX drops 25 points as majority shares decline in early trading today

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main capital market, experienced a downturn in trading today, the first working day of the week.

In the first two hours of trading, the majority of companies saw a drop in share prices, leading to a decline in all three major indices of the DSE.

During this period, the prices of 94 companies advanced, while 225 companies saw a decline, and 73 companies remained unchanged.

According to DSE sources, the main index, DSEX, decreased by 25.12 points, settling at 5232.85. The DSES Shariah index dropped by 4.68 points to 1169.45, while the DS30 blue-chip index fell by 9.34 points to 1921.05.

Approximately Tk 130 crore worth of shares and units were traded in the DSE during these initial two hours, indicating cautious investor sentiment amid the market decline.
