Banglalink has won the prestigious 'Project Management Awards 2024' from the Project Management Institute (PMI) Bangladesh, a U.S.-based not-for-profit professional organisation for project management. The recognition was awarded to the 'Cumilla DC DR Project', which excelled in three categories: Project of the Year, Project Manager of the Year, and runner-up Program Management Office (PMO) of the year. The award ceremony was held at Radisson Blu Water Garden, Dhaka.
The achievement highlights Banglalink's successful deployment of its Disaster Recovery (DR) Data Centre, a vital initiative ensuring uninterrupted digital services during disruptions. By safeguarding critical systems and enabling swift recovery from events like technical failures, cyberattacks, and natural disasters, the DR Data Centre plays a crucial role in Banglalink's operations. In a disaster-prone country like Bangladesh, such a system is essential to protect customer services and infrastructure.
As Banglalink expands its network, a strong DR strategy remains vital to delivering a secure and reliable digital experience. Since 2022, Banglalink has invested heavily in enhancing its network resilience to enable a secure, stable, and future-ready network that can meet the nation's digital demands.

This award recognised the extraordinary contributions of Banglalink's Technology Team to ensuring Business Continuity. S M Al Maimun, Head of Enterprise Network Service, IT, and Md Faisal Islam, Technology Transformation Principal Engineer, received the awards on behalf of the team. Mohammad Zaved Akhtar, President, Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Chairman, Managing Director, Unilever; Amit Goyal, Regional Managing Director, South Asia, Project Management Institute; A T M Iqbal Chowdhury, PMP, President, Project Management Institute, Bangladesh, attended the event as Chief Guests. Other officials from Banglalink were also present during the ceremony, including Mohammad Faysal Khan, Deputy Director of IT, and Masum Akond, Deputy Director of Core Network Management.
