Banglalink recognised for future-ready infrastructure

Banglalink has won the prestigious 'Project Management Awards 2024' from the Project Management Institute (PMI) Bangladesh, a U.S.-based not-for-profit professional organisation for project management.  The recognition was awarded to the 'Cumilla DC DR Project', which excelled in three categories: Project of the Year, Project Manager of the Year, and runner-up Program Management Office (PMO) of the year. The award ceremony was held at Radisson Blu Water Garden, Dhaka.

The achievement highlights Banglalink's successful deployment of its Disaster Recovery (DR) Data Centre, a vital initiative ensuring uninterrupted digital services during disruptions. By safeguarding critical systems and enabling swift recovery from events like technical failures, cyberattacks, and natural disasters, the DR Data Centre plays a crucial role in Banglalink's operations. In a disaster-prone country like Bangladesh, such a system is essential to protect customer services and infrastructure.

As Banglalink expands its network, a strong DR strategy remains vital to delivering a secure and reliable digital experience. Since 2022, Banglalink has invested heavily in enhancing its network resilience to enable a secure, stable, and future-ready network that can meet the nation's digital demands.

Huseyin Turker, Banglalink's Chief Technology and Information Officer, said, "We are committed to creating new digital opportunities for our customers. A future-ready and advanced infrastructure is essential for supporting digital transformation and services like broadband, IoT, mobile internet, and entertainment. The Disaster Recovery Data Centre ensures network stability and can tackle major disruptions, including natural disasters, which is crucial for Bangladesh. We are delighted to receive this recognition for building a resilient infrastructure."
