Guardian life Insurance and BRAC signs agreement on migrant workers

The 'Guardian Probashi Prohori' insurance policy was unveiled at an event held at the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) in  Gulshan. At the event, Sheikh Rakibul Karim, FCA, Chief Executive Officer of Guardian Life, and Ariyan Dhar, Senior Director of Brac Microfinance, signed the agreement. In addition, Brac's Associate Director, Md. Belayet Hossain, and Guardian Life's Director, Mr. David Griffiths; Head of Microinsurance Abdul Halim, along with top officials of both organizations were present.

'Guardian Probashi Prohori' is an innovative insurance policy that will ensure overseas workers' and their families' financial and future security. This policy can be taken with a one-time low premium. Under this policy, if an expatriate worker dies during his or her career, a lump sum amount will be paid to the nominee and financial assistance will be provided to bring the body back home.

In addition, Guardian Life Insurance will provide hospital treatment benefits in case of illness and economic assistance after losing a job abroad.

Sheikh Rakibul Karim, FCA, CEO of Guardian Life, said, "Expatriate workers are the backbone of the country's economy. 'Guardian Probashi Prohori' will reduce their financial risks and stabilise their families' future security. This initiative will play a significant role in fulfilling our goal of 'insurance for all'.

Ariyan Dhar, Senior Director of Brac, said, "This policy is a tribute to the sacrifices made by expatriates for our country. It will bring financial security and long-term security to their families.

Guardian Life and Brac have previously launched various insurance policies for marginalised people in the country. Through this, more than one crore twenty lakh people in the country have been protected by insurance.
