The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended Monday's trading on a positive note. The DSE benchmark index managed to stay afloat in green territory, with the majority of scrips witnessing a mild recovery. DSEX, the DSE's broad index, advanced by 16.89 points and settled at 5,202.93 points, up from 5,185.04 points in the previous trading session.
The upward trend extended to other indices as well, with the Shariah-based DSES index raised slightly by 2.89 points to 1168.43 points, and the DS30 blue-chip index increased by 2.47 points to settle at 1913.51 points.
Meanwhile, market turnover also increased by 25.9 percent to Tk 500 crore as against Tk 400 crore in the previous session.
A total of 21.24 crore shares and units changed hands through 164449 transactions, seeing an increase in volume from Sunday’s 16.70 crore shares. Out of the 397 issues (companies) traded, 238 advanced, 93 declined and 66 remained unchanged at the DSE.
The port city bourse, CSE, settled on green terrain. The selected indices (CSCX) and All Share Price Index (CASPI) rose by 11.0 and 23.9 points, respectively. On the CSE, 223 companies were traded. Of them, 113 companies recorded price gains, 74 companies saw declines, and 36 companies remained unchanged.
CSE shares and units worth Tk 6.51 crore changed hands on Monday, which was Tk 5.84 crore on the previous day (Sunday).
