Global electronics brand Walton is going to expand its brand business in Sri Lanka. In this regard, Walton has inked a deal with Sri Lankan firm ‘Monik Trading Private Limited’. Recently, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC. and Monik Trading at a splendid programme held at Marino Beach Hotel in Colombia.
On behalf of their respective organisations, Monik Trading’s Managing Director Dr. Wasala Maduwantha Ariyapala as well as Walton Hi-Tech’s Additional Managing Director (AMD) and Chief Financial Officer Md. Ziaul Alam, FCA, ACA (ICAEW) inked the deal.
Bangladesh High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Andalib Elias attended the function as the chief guest. Among others, Bangladesh High Commission's Deputy Chief of Mission Jannatul Habib, First Secretary Nizamul Islam, Walton Global Business Division (GBD) Vice-President Abdur Rouf, Walton's Deputy Company Secretary Md. Enamul Haq, FCS, Monik Trading's Chief Finance M.N.H Nashwaq and Assistant General Manager Kasun Mahanama were also present.
Addressing the function, Bangladesh High Commissioner Andalib Elias said, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have a long-standing friendly relationship. This friendly relationship will go further with the signing of the MoU between Walton and Monique Trading today.
Walton's AMD and CFO Md. Ziaul Alam said, "Walton is going ahead with the target of becoming one of the best global electronics brand in the world. To achieve this target, we strongly focused on expanding Walton brand business around the world.
As a part of this initiative, Walton is going to expand its brand business in Sri Lanka. In this journey, Monik Trading joined hands with Walton. In Sri Lanka, Monik Trading will market Walton brand's world-class electronics, electrical, home and kitchen appliances, designed with advanced technologies and features."
Walton GBD's Vice-President Abdur Rauf said that Walton brand refrigerators, ACs, washing machines and other electrical, home and kitchen appliance products will be marketed in Sri Lanka from now on. A shipment of Walton products will be send to Sri Lanka this month.
To create a strong presence in the Sri Lankan market, he said, a strong sales and marketing team has been established, along with after-sales service facility.
