Customers can now pay savings and loan installments of Southeast Bank through Nagad, the mobile financial service provider of the Bangladesh Postal Department. This initiative was launched Wednesday (11 December) at an event held at the head office of Southeast Bank.
Using the Nagad app or dialing the USSD code *167#, Nagad users can instantly deposit money into bank accounts, pay DPS installments, and repay loan installments.
Nagad Administrator Muhommad Badiuzzaman Dider, Nagad Deputy Managing Director Shihab Uddin Chowdhury, Southeast Bank PLC Managing Director Nuruddin Mohammad Sadeque Hussain, and other senior officials from both organizations attended the event.
Muhommad Badiuzzaman Dider, speaking at the event, said, “Banks and MFS providers are working together to advance financial inclusion in the country. Nagad, as an organisation, aims to enrich the country’s economy. Collaborating with a second-generation bank like Southeast Bank, we hope to bring meaningful changes to people's lives in remote areas. This new option of depositing money from Nagad to banks will make life even easier for customers.”
Nagad and Southeast Bank have a long-standing business relationship. Together, they have opened new horizons in the partnership between banks and mobile financial services in Bangladesh. In addition to Southeast Bank, several other banks allow loan installment and DPS payments via Nagad.
