This year’s theme, “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity” highlights the role of youth in fostering ethical practices, emphasizing that today’s actions lay the foundation for a more integrity-driven future. In alignment with this theme, Grameenphone has launched various initiatives to promote awareness and reinforce its zero-tolerance stance against corruption. These efforts echo the company’s values of integrity, accountability, and ethical leadership, underlining its belief that combating corruption is not just a legal requirement but a cornerstone of sustainable business growth.
"Corruption affects every facet of our society, posing challenges to business continuity, profitability, and meaningful societal contributions,” said, Yasir Azman, Chief Executive Officer of Grameenphone. “Preventing corruption is crucial for achieving our goals and creating value for our stakeholders. Ethical leadership begins with asking the right questions and addressing concerns head-on. By encouraging accountability at all levels, we can create an environment where saying 'No' to corruption becomes second nature. Together, let us lead by example and reiterate our commitment integrity and doing what is right.”
Stephanos Gulbraar Orestis, Head of Ethics and Compliance at Grameenphone, stated, “Ethical companies not only achieve greater economic success but also inspire others to uphold integrity. Building a successful business means we do not compromise our anti-corruption commitments. At Grameenphone, doing things, the right way, ethically, with integrity, and in full compliance with the law, is not just a policy, it is ingrained in our culture. We put ethics at the heart of every decision that we make. Because we believe that it’s not just what we achieve that matters, it’s also how we achieve it.
On this International Anti-Corruption Day, I thank my colleagues and partners in the value chain for their dedication and urge everyone to join us in leading the fight against corruption. Because, when we act together, we can make a difference in the fight against corruption.”
