Chattogram Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has renewed its agreement with Nagad, the mobile financial service of Bangladesh Postal Department, to facilitate bill payment services for its customers.
As a result of this agreement, Chattogram WASA customers will now find it more convenient to pay their water bills digitally.
At a recent modest ceremony held at its headquarters, Chattogram WASA renewed the agreement with Nagad, one of the country’s leading mobile financial service providers. Nagad Administrator Muhommad Badiuzzaman Dider and Chattogram WASA Deputy Managing Director (Finance) Mohammad Lal Hossain (Joint Secretary) signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides. Senior officials from both Nagad and Chattogram WASA were also present at the event.
Officials from both organisations congratulated each other, stating that this partnership will significantly improve the quality of civic services for residents of the port city. They expressed hope that in this way, every service across the country would be integrated into digital platforms, making transactions and service accessibility easier for the people.
Following this agreement, Chattogram WASA customers can now pay their water bills more easily, quickly, and securely through Nagad. To do this, customers need to access the “Bill Payment” option via the Nagad app or by dialling USSD *167#, select “Chattogram WASA”, and complete the payment process.
It is noteworthy that since 2020, Nagad has been providing this service to Chattogram WASA customers. Both parties now hope that this renewed agreement will further streamline customer services.
Nagad, the digital service of the Bangladesh Postal Department, has achieved remarkable success in financial inclusion within just five and a half years. By simplifying the bill payment processes of various government and non-government organisations, Nagad has played a significant role in improving access to financial services.
