Leading electric vehicle manufacturer BYD is about to kick off a training campaign in Dhaka, Bangladesh for local drivers with a view to equipping them with the right knowledge and training required for driving new energy vehicles (NEV).
As NEV is a relatively new phenomenon in the country and not so many drivers have hands-on experience of driving NEVs, this initiative is expected to play a crucial role in minimizing the knowledge gap among the drivers, opening doors to new employment opportunities within the country, equipping them with skills for driving NEVs overseas as well, and stepping towards the zero emissions and zero unemployment target of Bangladesh.
Named ‘Build Your Dreams NEV (New Energy Vehicle) Training 2024’, this campaign comes as a phenomenal opportunity for Bangladeshi drivers to learn important and technical details about NEV driving.
Beginning on December 19, 2024, the recruitment for this training program will continue till December 30, 2024. BYD representatives will be situated in different areas of Dhaka, recruiting drivers for this program. The registration for this exclusive training program is set to open on January 03, 2025.
Interested people can register for this training from 9 am–12 pm by visiting the BYD Service Center located in the capital.
The training will be held every Friday between January 10 to February 14, 2025. They will be conducted by expert trainers working at the BYD Service Center who will be sharing the details of NEV driving (both EV & Hybrid) and how to efficiently drive NEVs with dexterity. Trainees will also get hands-on product knowledge of the BYD SEALION 06 and its features.
The training sessions will include both theoretical knowledge and practical NEV driving experience. On top of this, participating drivers will receive certificates after completion of this training program. This will help them get better employment opportunities in Bangladesh and land jobs overseas as well, where there are more NEVs.
Amid Sakif Khan, Head of Business, BYD Bangladesh, said, “A greater NEV adoption in the country can significantly contribute to a better climate, and for that, we must begin at the very basics. It is important for vehicle drivers to know how these NEVs work so that they can have a better grasp of them while also ensuring the utmost safety on the roads. Besides, this initiative will help them get familiar with Electric Vehicles, consequently enabling more and more Bangladeshis to adopt this sustainable alternative. We hope this initiative will encourage more people to adopt NEVs and move towards the zero carbon emission target of Bangladesh, all while providing better employment opportunities for the participants of this training. We hope to contribute more towards eradicating unemployment and reducing carbon emissions in Bangladesh for a better future for the country.”
