The Panamanian-flagged cargo vessel MV Yuan Jian Fa Zhong, carrying 811 containers goods, docked at Chattogram Port's New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT) on Sunday.

The vessel, which departed from Pakistan, arrived at the Chattogram port jetty at 3:00 PM on Sunday.

According to Chattogram Customs House spokesperson and Deputy Commissioner Saidul Islam, the vessel's manifest declared that 285 containers onboard carried refined sugar, amounting to 148,200 bags, weighing approximately 7,500 tons.

"It carried 171 containers of dolomite, used in glass production; 138 containers of soda ash, a raw material for cement manufacturing; 46 containers of fabric rolls; 18 containers of potatoes; and 20 containers of molasses,"he said.

A representative of Regency Lines Ltd, the shipping agent for the vessel, said that the cargo was sourced from both Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The ship first transported 113 containers from the UAE to Karachi in Pakistan, where an additional 698 containers were loaded before setting sail for Bangladesh.

This shipment predominantly consisted of goods from Pakistan, accounting for 86% of the cargo, with the remaining 14% originating from the UAE, said officials.

This is the second time the Panama-flagged vessel Yuan Xiang Fa Zhan transported goods from Pakistan to Bangladesh. On its first voyage, the ship arrived at Chattogram port on November 11 with 370 containers of goods, including 297 containers of goods from Pakistan and the 73 containers of goods from the UAE.
