The Bangladesh Board of Unani and Ayurvedic Systems of Medicine met at the Association's office on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025. Mallika Khatun, the organisation's Chairperson (Joint Secretary), chaired the meeting, which was attended by senior members of the Bangladesh Unani and Ayurvedic Board, the President of BAMA, the Chief Muthawalli, and Dr. Hakim Md, the Managing Director of Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh.
Yusuf Harun Bhuiyan, Dr. Mizanur Rahman, A K Mahbubur Rahman Saki, Saleh Md. Abdur Rahman, Motaleb Matin, Hakim Kamrul Islam Nabatati, Hakim Mokhsedul Alam, Dr. Nur Mohammad Iqbal Chowdhury, Professor Dr. Ataur Rahman, Hakim Md Kamruzzaman, Kabiraj Shyamal Prasad Sengupta, and others.
The meeting discussed a range of issues, including improving the quality of Unani and Ayurvedic medical education in the country, the initiative to modernise the Board's existing Ordinance and convert it into the Unani Ayurvedic Medical Education Act, updating the salary structure policy for teachers, officials, and staff, and modernising policies for the establishment of private Unani and Ayurvedic colleges.
