A cross-party parliamentary delegation led by five UK MPs met Sayem Sobhan Anvir, managing director (MD) of Bashundhara Group. Meeting at the residence of Bashundhara Group MD on Sunday evening, the members of the delegation praised Bashundhara Group for its tremendous contributing to the overall development of Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir was highly appreciated for his outstanding leadership. In the discussion, the UK delegation also recalled the contribution of Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan for creating huge employment at the enterprises and business ventures of Bashundhara.
The UK delegation comprised of five British MPs including Paul Bristow MP, Paulette Hamilton MP, Anthony Higginbotham, MP, Mrs Jane Marion Hunt MP and Thomas Patrick Hunt MP. Councilor Alexander Turner Brentwood, Commonwealth's Clear Insurance and Management Director Rodney Flower, Live Testing Solutions CEO Ms. Joe Lee, ZI Foundation Chairman Zillur Hussain MBE, SMR Vice Chair Ivelina Banialiva, Pos Spice Limited Chair Golap Mia, and British Bangladeshi Young Talent Founder Zobair Alam were also included the delegation.
The members of the UK delegation expressed interest in Bashundhara Group's business and social vision, strategy, outlook on global situation, application of technology in production and sustainability and mutual cooperation opportunities between Bangladesh and UK and discussed at length about enhancing Bangladesh's business relations with 56 Commonwealth countries. Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir congratulated the cross party parliamentary delegation of UK on their visit to Bangladesh. The UK delegation was thrilled to know that Bashundhara's managing director had studied in the UK. Thomas Hunt, a member of the delegation, is a student of the same school where Sayem Sobhan Anvir studied. Throughout the discussion, the members of the delegation enthusiastically appreciated the various projects of the Bashundhara Group and expressed interest in working together.
Cross Party Parliamentary Delegation came to Bangladesh mainly on the invitation of Zillur Hussain MBE, Chairman of ZI Foundation and SMR Foundation. They are on this visit to open mental health and mental health centers or training centers in Bangladesh. Earlier, the delegation also met the honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the business community of Bangladesh along with political figures. The delegation praised Saima Wazed Putul for her role in mental health. They expressed their determination to build a mental health center in Bangladesh as soon as possible based on mutual agreement.
