Prime Bank launches Braille Books on Financial Literacy

Prime Bank PLC., as part of its financial literacy initiatives have published books on Consumer & SME Banking basics in braille. This is first of its kind initiative by any bank in Bangladesh. The braille books which will be available free of cost at all public libraries and specialized schools for visually impaired across the country. Prime Bank will deliver those in phases everywhere.

This initiative reinforces the bank’s commitment to ensuring equal access to banking for all segments of society. The books will also be available as Audio Books with Sign Language interpreter through Prime Bank youtube channel @primebankofficial.

The initiative was marked recently by a ceremony at the premises of Bangladesh Bank, where Hassan O. Rashid, Chief Executive Officer of Prime Bank formally handed over the braille books on financial literacy for Consumer and SME banking to Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank. Rup Ratan Pine, Executive Director; Abeda Rahim, Additional Director; Golam Sarowar, Joint Director; Md. Shamim Al Mamun, Deputy Director; Mohammad Yousuf Ali, Assistant Director of Bangladesh Bank and M. Nazeem A. Choudhury, Deputy Managing Director; Shaila Abedin, Head of Liabilities of Prime Bank PLC. and other senior officials from both organizations were present at the event.

Speaking on the occasion Hassan O. Rashid, Chief Executive Officer of Prime Bank PLC. stated, "At Prime Bank, we firmly believe that financial services should be accessible to everyone. Through this initiative, we aim to empower the specially-abled community by providing them with the necessary tools to navigate the banking system with ease."

This initiative aligns with Prime Bank’s broader vision of fostering an inclusive banking environment. By embracing innovation and accessibility, the bank continues to pave the way for a more equitable financial ecosystem in Bangladesh.
