BRAC Business School has organized the Closing Ceremony of উদ্যমী আমি

The Research and Professional Development Center of BRAC Business School has organized the Closing Ceremony for Cohort-3 of উদ্যমী আমি training program where Brac Business School announced a partnership with BRAC Bank Limited. The event was graced by the presence of Professor Syed Mahfuzul Aziz, Ph.D., Pro-Vice Chancellor and Acting Vice-Chancellor of BRAC University; Mohammad Ashiqur Rahman, Director, SME & Special Programs Department, Bangladesh Bank; Syed Abdul Momen, Deputy Managing Director & Head of SME, BRAC Bank Limited; along with Dr. David Dowland, Registrar, BRAC University; and Mohammad Mujibul Haque, Ph.D., Professor and Associate Dean, Acting Dean, BRAC Business School, BRAC University. 

Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Syed Mahfuzul Aziz, appreciated the unique association among a national body (Bangladesh Bank), a private entity (BRAC Bank Limited) and a private university (BRAC University) to encourage women entrepreneurship and start-up businesses in Bangladesh through the training program. 
 
Bangladesh Bank Director of SME & Special Programs Department, Mohammad Ashiqur Rahman pointed out the fact that Bangladesh Bank is backing women entrepreneurship by increasing funds available to women entrepreneurs from BDT 1,500 crore to BDT 3,000 crore. 

BRAC Bank Limited Deputy Managing Director & Head of SME, Syed Abdul Momen reiterated the support for women entrepreneurship by referring to existing products designed for women entrepreneurs and promising more newer products targeting women entrepreneurs. He also pointed out that the proportion of bad debt is lower among women entrepreneurs. 

Registrar of BRAC University, Dr. David Dowland highlighted how the training program addresses the vision set out by Sir Fazle Hasan Abed of women empowerment for poverty alleviation. He further appreciated the enthusiasm of women entrepreneurs and pointed out the drastic increase in women’s engagement in entrepreneurial activities in recent times in Bangladesh. 

BRAC Business School Professor and Associate Dean (Acting Dean) Dr. Mohammad Mujibul Haque thanked the guests for showing support to the initiative and encouraged the women entrepreneurs by asking them to dream big by viewing themselves as a citizen of the global village.
