On Sunday (5 November) during the first day of countrywide blockade by BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami  at least four buses were set on fire by miscreants in the capital including two buses just within half an hour.

A Shikor Paribahan bus was set ablaze in Mirpur's Pallabi area at around 7.00pm, said Abdul Khalek, warehouse inspector of Pallabi Fire Station.

Two fire engines brought the fire under control at 7.14pm.

While in Banglamotor, a bus was torched at 6.28pm, said Ershad Hossain, duty officer of Fire Service Control Room.

However, the fire was brought under control quickly by two fire engines.

Earlier on Sunday, a Dhaka University student bus was set on fire by unidentified miscreants in Dhaka's Mirpur area at 3.42pm in front of Govt Bangla College in Mirpur.

Meanwhile, in Dhaka's Meradia, two persons suffered burn injuries after a bus was torched this morning.
